Rain in northeast, southwest; heat wave continues

Heavy rainfall is likely to occur at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Kerala, and Lakshadweep during the next 48.

Heat wave conditions prevailed in Bihar and in the plains of Uttar Pradesh, West Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, south coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, coastal and south interior Karnataka and in some parts of Orissa, madhya Maharashtra and Rayalaseema.

Day temperatures were appreciably above normal in southeast Rajasthan, Gujarat region, Kutch, south Konkan, Goa, Marathwada, north coastal Andhra Pradesh, north Tamil Nadu and north interior Karnataka and in the remaining parts of Orissa, madhya Maharashtra, Rayalaseema and in some parts of Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh.

Temperatures were above normal in Saurashtra, north Konkan and in some parts of west Bengal. They were normal over the rest of the country and in the hills of west Uttar Pradesh from where the data was sparse.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in north interior Karnataka and at many places in Assam, Meghalaya, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Kerala; at a few places in the Bihar plateau, madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, and south interior Karnataka; and at isolated places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Gangetic West Bengal, Konkan, Goa, Vidarbha, Telangana and coastal Karnataka.

Very light rain has also occurred at isolated places in Haryana, east Rajasthan, east Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat region and Rayalaseema. Mainly dry weather prevailed over the rest of the country.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over the rest of the country.
