Heavy rainfall likely in Kerala, Lakshadweep

Heavy rainfall is likely to occur at isolated places in Kerala and Lakshadweep during the next 48 hours.

Heat wave conditions prevailed in northeast Uttar Pradesh, north Madhya Pradesh, south Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Vidarbha, south Andhra Pradesh and in some parts of Orissa, Bihar and north interior Karnataka.

Day temperatures were appreciably above normal in north Gujarat region, north Madhya Maharashtra, north Tamil Nadu, coastal and south interior Karnataka and in the remaining parts of Orissa, in some parts of gangetic West Bengal and Himachal Pradesh. Temperatures were above normal in Saurashtra, Konkan and Goa, south Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

They were appreciably below normal in some parts of Haryana and Punjab and were below normal in some parts of north Rajasthan.

They were normal over the rest of the country outside Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, west Uttar Pradesh, south Rajasthan, regions from where the data was sparse.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at many places in Kerala, at a few places in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, coastal Karnataka, Lakshadweep, at isolated places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and north interior Karnataka.

Very light rain has also occurred at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir and south interior Karnataka. Mainly dry weather prevailed over the rest of the country.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, coastal Karnataka, Kerala and and Lakshadweep, at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh and south interior Karnataka and at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir, south Konka, Goa, south coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu and north interior Karnataka. Mainly dry weather will prevail over the rest of the country.
