Karnataka cabinet to be expandedThe much-awaited reconstitution of the Karnataka cabinet will take place next week, Chief Minister J H Patel has said. Addressing the media on his completion of two years in office, Patel expressed satisfaction that his government had performed well in various sectors. "Ours is a scandal-free government," he added. He reiterated that there was no need for a Central Bureau of Investigation inquiry into the alleged irregularities in the allotment of works for the World Bank-aided Upper Krishna project as demanded by former Union minister R L Jalappa and other Opposition leaders. The government had already initiated action against erring officials in this regard, he added. UNI |
