Vajpayee tight lipped about summit

What Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee told a press conference in Colombo on Wednesday.

What is your response to Pakistan's peace and security initiative made this morning at the SAARC inaugural session by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharief?

I am not making any comment on SAARC.

Did your talks dwell on Kashmir? If so, were any significant decisions taken after that?

Jammu and Kashmir was discussed, and further talks will be held.

Will you and Nawaz Sharief, as a confidence building measure, sign a no-nuclear tests agreement?

Both countries have announced a moratorium on further testing.

Terrorism is an issue before SAARC nations, it affects Sri Lanka, India and Pakistan. Did you today discuss the issue bilaterally?

Yes, the issue of terrorism was discussed…

And what were the views that were expressed on this?

I am not going into details.

Considering that the economic sanctions following nuclear tests by the two countries affect both deeply, did the two of you discuss how to overcome the sanctions?

The question of sanctions was not touched upon at all…
