Wet spell to continue in South India

Heavy rains are likely to occur at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, the Bihar plains, North Uttar Pradesh, costal Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep during the next 48 hours.

The Southwest monsoon has been vigorous in sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, East Uttar Pradesh and Kerala.

Rain or thundershowers occurred at most places in interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep, at many places in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, the Bihar plains, Haryana, madhya Maharashtra and coastal Karnataka, at a few places in Gangetic West Bengal, the Bihar plateau, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rayalseema and Tamil Nadu, and at isolated places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Orissa, West Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, East Rajasthan, Gujarat, Konkan, Goa and coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over the rest of the country. Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in the Andaman and Nicobar islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Konkan, Goa, Rayalseema, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep, at a few places in Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Haryana, Punjab, East Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat region, madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Vidarbha, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, and at isolated places over the rest of the country.
