RJD may witness bitter family tussleA Special Correspondent The Rashtriya Janata Dal may witness a bitter family tussle, with party chief and former Bihar chief minister Laloo Prasad Yadav's brother-in-law Anirudh Prasad alias Sadhu Yadav defying his mentor. The RJD chief thought he had settled the dispute between Sadhu Yadav and his younger brother Subhash Yadav with his ingenious 'sitting getting' formula -- the ticket for the Gopalganj constituency would not be given to either of the warring brothers but to sitting MP Lal Babu Prasad Yadav. But Sadhu Yadav pounced back, saying that the former chief minister should take decisions on the basis of the people's mood. The controversial brother-in-law claimed he has been nursing the constituency, which happens to be his home district, for more than two decades. Taking an adamant stand, Sadhu Yadav seems to have also ignored the advice of his sister and Chief Minister Rabri Devi who advised him to steer clear of Gopalganj. The chief minister, who was favourably inclined to her brother, now seems to be upset with him. Asked if he would contest from Gopalganj despite such opposition, Sadhu Yadav said he would file his nomination on January 28. ''Laloo is my guardian and whatever he says will be acceptable to me,'' he said. Despite such pronouncements, Sadhu Yadav may contest the poll as an independent if his pressure tactics fail to convince the RJD chief, sources said.
