Six killed as aircraft crashes

A six-seater aircraft carrying senior Steel Authority of India Limited officials crashed into the thick forests of Chiklasaka, in Rajnandgaon district of Madhya Pradesh. All six bodies have been recovered.

Police sources said wreckage of the Bhilai steel plant aircraft, which was on its way from New Delhi to the Nandini airstrip at Bhilai, was found in the forest near the Boartalab police station.

A report from Raipur said besides pilot Mohan Varghese, Bhilai steel plant general manager Uma Kant Sharma and SAIL officials K S Chandra, T K Ghosh, senior manager Padmanabhan and S M Aeron were abroad the ill-fated plane.
