Showers in South

Heavy rains are likely at isolated places in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Lakshadweep in the next 48 hours.

The Northeast monsoon has been vigorous in Tamil Nadu. Rain or thundershowers occurred at many places in Lakshadweep, at a few places in Rayalaseema, south interior Karnataka and Kerala, and at isolated places in Assam and Meghalaya.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over the rest of the country.

Night temperatures were appreciably below normal im southeast Rajasthan and in parts of north central Maharashtra and Vidarbha, and in parts of west Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.

They were appreciably above normal in Assam and Meghalaya, northwest Rajasthan, north Tamil Nadu and in parts of West Bengal, Sikkim, north Orissa, Rayalaseema, Karnataka and Kerala.

They were above normal in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, east Uttar Pradesh, hills of west Uttar Pradesh, south coastal Andhra Pradesh and in the remaining parts of interior Karnataka.

They were normal over the rest of the country outside Arunachal Pradesh from where the data were sparse.
