Schoolmaster among 2 killed in Kashmir

A government schoolteacher was among two persons killed in the Kashmir valley since last evening.

An official spokesman said unidentified gunmen shot dead the teacher, Mubarak Ahmad Bhat, at Kulgam in south Kashmir early this morning.

The body of an unidentified person was recovered at Soura, on the outskirts of Srinagar, this morning.

In another incident, militants attacked a search party of the Special Task Force of the Jammu and Kashmir police at Dardpora Hyatpora in the central Kashmir district of Badgam today. STF personnel retaliated and the exchange continued for some time. But no one was hurt.
