Rabri, Laloo call on Vajpayee to complain against CBI raids

Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi, accompanied by her husband and Rashtriya Janata Dal president Laloo Prasad Yadav, yesterday met Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in New Delhi.

During her 15-minute meeting with Vajpayee, the first such between the two, Rabri Devi complained against the Central Bureau of Investigation raids at the chief minister's official residence in Patna and said she was unnecessarily subjected to ''mental harassment.'' She termed the whole exercise as an ''injustice'' committed on her, a woman, especially in the ''absence'' of her husband.

During the conversation, Rabri Devi also apprised Vajpayee of the deteriorating flood situation in the state and demanded that a central team, along with a financial package, be despatched to the state to assess the loss of human lives and property and help in providing relief operations.
