Pak fire in Jammu, Kupwara

Pakistani troops have resorted to unprovoked firing on Indian positions in Jammu and Kashmir since Sunday evening.

And in other incidents, two militants were killed in the last 24 hours.

A report from Jammu said Pakistani troops fired with heavy and light machine guns on forward posts on Sunday evening and Monday morning. Border Security Force personnel retaliated and the exchange continued for some hours. There was no report of any casualty or damage to property on the Indian side.

The report further said troops recovered 7.5 kg of high quality explosives besides other arms and ammunition in Rajouri district on Sunday evening.

Pakistani troops also fired few artillery and mortar shells from across the border in Kashmir's Kupwara sector. However, there was no damage.

At Ajas in Baramullah district, troops killed two militants during a search operation. Two AK 56 rifles, two magazines, six grenades, and 100 rounds were recovered from the slain militants.

Two Border Security Force personnel who deserted their post in Anantnag recently were arrested at Jammu on Sunday evening.
