Modi demands dismissal of CBI officers for leaking info on raids

Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar legislative assembly Sushilkumar Modi has demanded the dismissal of two senior Central Bureau of Investigation officers for allegedly leaking the information of impending raids on Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Laloo Prasad Yadav's home.

Ranjit Singh, director (administration), and D K Sinha, joint director stationed at the CBI headquarters in New Delhi, were responsible for the leakage as they were "known henchmen" of Yadav and they should immediately be removed from the CBI, Modi alleged at a press conference in Patna.

The leak might have enabled the concerned to take all precautionary measures to remove evidence, he said.

Modi demanded that the CBI file a case against Rabri Devi for possessing disproportionate assets which she failed to disclose in her income tax returns.

The BJP leader also urged President K R Narayanan to dismiss the government and impose President's rule forthwith as the chief minister had lost her moral right to continue in power in the wake of the CBI raids yesterday.
