President will not address nation on Independence Day eveFor the first time since Independence, the President will not address the nation on the eve of Independence Day, informed sources indicated today. Instead, President K R Narayanan will be interviewed by N Ram, editor of Frontline magazine. This interview will be telecast on August 14 around 2000 hours. This is the first time there will be no Presidential address on the occasion of Independence Day. However, the President will address the joint Parliament session to be held in the central hall on August 15. This will conclude the year-long golden jubilee celebrations of the country's independence. UNI
