13 killed, 37 injured in bus accident

Thirteen people were killed and 37 injured when a Madhya Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation bus plunged into a gorge at Bherughat near Manpur, about 50 kilometres from Indore, late on Tuesday night.

Indore District Collector Gopal Reddy said the bus was on its way from Ujjain to Mandleshwar. He said a team of doctors from Indore was rushed to the site.

The injured have been brought to the Maharaja Yeshwantrao hospital at Indore. An ex gratia financial assistance of Rs 15,000 have been sanctioned to each of the families of the killed, and Rs 5,000 each to the injured.
