No more teams to TN, says Advani

Home Minister L K Advani today ruled out sending another special home ministry team to Tamil Nadu to assess the law and order situation in the state.

The home minister replied in the negative when asked after a defence investiture ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan whether a second home ministry team would be despatched to the southern state.

A two-member special home ministry team led by special secretary Ashok Kumar had visited Tamil Nadu last week.

Asked to comment on Ashok Kumar's transfer to the Planning Commission as advisor in the rank of a secretary, Advani said: ''I don't make comments. I do things.''

Ashok Kumar's transfer comes close on the heels of the controversy over his remarks on the Tamil Nadu situation, giving a 'clean chit' to the state government.
