Clinton will visit India in November

United States President Bill Clinton will visit India this November.

Disclosing this in an informal chat with the media in Madras, United States Assistant Secretary of State for South Asian Affairs Karl F Inderfurth said preparations were underway for Clinton's visit.

Replying to a question, he said efforts would be made to include Madras in his itinerary.

Inderfurth also had a meeting with senior Dravida Munnetra Kazagham leader and former Union industries minister Murasoli Maran and held discussions on the US industries in the state. He could not call on Chief Minister M Karunanidhi as the latter was busy with the state assembly session.

He also called on former chief minister and All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazagham leader J Jayalalitha.
