Hot spell in Jammu and KashmirDay temperatures were appreciably above normal in parts of Jammu and Kashmir, South Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu, and above normal in parts of Assam, Meghalaya, Orissa, Himachal Pradesh, North Rajasthan, Gujarat, Central Maharashtra, Telangana and Rayalaseema. They were markedly below normal in parts of Gangetic West Bengal, and the Bihar plateau. They were appreciably below normal in parts of Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, East Uttar Pradesh, and the remaining parts of Orissa. They were normal over the rest of the country outside Arunachal Pradesh, West Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka from where data was sparse. Rain or thundershowers occurred at many places in sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and at a few places in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, and at one or two places in Bihar plateau, East Madhya Pradesh and Kerala. Very light rain occurred at one or two places in Lakshadweep. Mainly dry weather prevailed over the rest of the country. Rain or snow is likely to occur at one or two places in Jammu and Kashmir. Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, coastal Orissa, Bihar, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Lakshadweep. Mainly dry weather will prevail over the rest of the country.
