Vajpayee to offer prayers at Akal Takht

Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee will go to Amritsar on April 27 to pay obeisance at the Golden Temple's Akal Takht, Parliamentary Affairs and Tourism Minister Madan Lal Khurana said today.

Besides this, he would also visit the historic Jallianwala Bagh and the Durgaina temple, he said.

Vajpayee finalised his one-day tour of Amritsar after meeting Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal.

Khurana, who is the BJP vice-president in charge of Punjab, will accompany the prime minister. Khurana pointed out that Vajpayee had visited Amritsar even when the BJP had been in the government for 13 days in 1996.
