Gulbarga reels under severe heatwaveGulbarga is reeling under oppressive heatwave conditions with the temperature reaching 43 degrees celcius today, the highest during this summer. Weather office sources said the heatwave conditions may subside in a couple of days as there is a forecast of early showers. Day temperatures were appreciably above normal in Assam, Meghalaya, Kashmir, interior Tamil Nadu, coastal Karnataka and in some parts of Telangana, Rayalaseema. They were above normal in southwest Rajasthan, Kerala and in some parts of west Madhya Pradesh, central Maharashtra, Vidarbha and north interior Karnataka. They were below normal in some parts of Bihar plateau, coastal Andhra Pradesh and were normal over the rest of the country. Rain or snow has occurred at one or two places in Himachal Pradesh. Rain or thundershowers have occurred at a few places in Bihar plateau and at one or two places in Orissa and east Madhya Pradesh. Mainly dry weather prevailed over the rest of the country. Rain or snow is likely to occur at one or two places in the hills of west Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir. UNI
