Surat civic body taps Internet for global tenders

The Surat Municipal Corporation is going hitech in order to invite global tenders. And, to highlight its ambitious projects, the SMC has launched its own website on the Internet.

Addressing the media on Monday, Municipal Commissioner S Jagdishan said the projects that have been highlighted on the website are the Surat Trade Centre, water supply, granites, amusement park and captive power projects of the SMC.

Apart from this, tenders for various projects are also being slotted through this website, he said.
