Severe heat wave in SaurashtraSevere heat wave conditions prevailed in some parts of Saurashtra. Day temperatures were appreciably above normal in Kerala and in some parts of Vidarbha, Telangana and were above normal in sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, south-east Madhya Pradesh, north-central Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and in some parts of Orissa and coastal Andhra Pradesh. They were appreciably below normal in Haryana and were below normal in some parts of east Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and west Madhya Pradesh. They were normal over the rest of the country outside Arunachal Pradesh from where the data was sparse. Rain or snow has occurred at one or two places in Himachal Pradesh. Rain or thundershowers have occurred at many places in Assam, Meghalaya and at a few places in sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Kerala and at one or two places in Tamil Nadu. Mainly dry weather prevailed over the rest of the country. Rain or snow is likely to occur at a few places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir. Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in the Andaman and Nicobar islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, Sikkim and at one or two places over the rest of the country outside Bihar plains, west Uttar Pradesh, south Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and north Konkan where the weather will be mainly dry.
