Kutch, Saurashtra continue under heat wave

Heat wave conditions prevailed in some parts of west Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra and Kutch.

Day temperatures were appreciably above normal in Gujarat, north Maharashtra and parts of Rajasthan, Marathwada, Vidarbha, Telangana, south interior Karnataka, and above normal in Haryana, Punjab, Jammu, Rayalaseema, interior Tamil Nadu, coastal Karnataka and Kerala.

They were appreciably below normal in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and below normal in parts of Assam, Meghalaya and Orissa.

They were normal over the rest of the country outside Arunachal Pradesh and the plains of west Uttar Pradesh from where data was sparse.

Rain or snow occurred at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir.

Very light rain occurred at one or two places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, east Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and east Madhya Pradesh.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over the rest of the country.

Rain or snow is likely to occur at a few places in the hills of west Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.

Rain or thundershowers is likely to occur at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, Sikkim, Orissa, Bihar, in the plains of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, east Madhya Pradesh, and at one or two places over the rest of the country outside the Andaman and Nicobar islands, Telangana and Rayalaseema where the weather will remain mainly dry.
