Rao willing to serve Congress

Former prime minister P V Narasimha Rao lent full co-operation to the Congress in its efforts to revitalise and strengthen it at all levels.

Participating in the discussion on political resolutions at the All India Congress Committee special session on Monday, Rao said, ''Because of my advanced age, I cannot take up much responsibilities. But I am willing to serve the party, offering advice to the partymen on how to go about things.''

He said both wins and defeats had reasons and the party should analyse them dispassionately. But successive defeats by the Congress was a matter of concern and should be dealt with at the party level. The advances in communication technology should be utilised and the leadership should ponder over the problems and find ways of overcoming them.
