BJP can't give stable govt: KarunakaranSenior Congress leader K Karunakaran said the country could not expect a stable and effective government from the Bharatiya Janata Party and that the Congress alone could provide good governance. Participating in the All India Congress Committee special session debate, the former Kerala chief minister said there had been erosion in the authority of Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee even before he took over. He cited the example of former Tamil Nadu chief minister and All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazagham supremo J Jayalalitha allegedly imposing her own minister to handle the revenue portfolio to 'weaken' the pending cases against her. ''We are not bothered about their internal fights but are concerned about the interests of the people of the country under such a government,'' he added. UNI
