Severe heat wave in Rajasthan

Severe heat wave conditions prevailed in some parts of west Rajasthan, Saurashtra and Kutch. Heat wave conditions prevailed in the remaining parts of Rajasthan.

Day temperatures were appreciably above normal in north Konkan, north central Maharashtra, south Tamil Nadu and in some parts of Himachal Pradesh and northwest Madhya Pradesh, and above normal in north interior Karnataka, Kerala and in parts of Haryana and north Tamil Nadu.

They were appreciably to marked below normal in Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh, in the hills of west Uttar Pradesh, east Madhya Pradesh, and below normal in some parts of Assam, Meghalaya, Punjab and Vidarbha.

They were normal over the rest of the country outside Arunachal Pradesh and the plains of west Uttar Pradesh from where data was sparse.

Rain or snow occurred at one or two places in Jammu and Kashmir.

Rain or thundershowers occurred at one or two places in coastal Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over the rest of the country.

Rain or snow is likely to occur at one or two places in the hills of west Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at one or two places in Orissa, in the plains of west Karnataka, Haryana, Punjab, north Rajasthan, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, south coastal Karnataka, south interior Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over the rest of the country.
