AP irrigation projects to be run by farmers

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu today announced in the state assembly that maintenance and management of all irrigation schemes would be handed over to the farmers's organisations as part of the decentralisation of the irrigation sector. He said an act was enacted last year for this purpose.

He said project-level committees would be constituted to implement the scheme.
