Will These New Jodis Make Box Office Magic?

With over 50 films in different stages of production, there are many new jodis waiting to enthrall audiences after the lockdown.

Joginder Tuteja lists more never-seen-before jodis coming up in the movies.

 

Ishaan Khattar-Ananya Panday, Khaali Peeli

Dhadak's Ishaan Khattar and SOTY 2's Ananya Panday come together in Khaali Peeli.

It's a new look for both actors, and one waits to see how they tackle it.

 

Arjun Kapoor-Rakul Preet Singh, yet-untitled film

Post De De Pyaar De, expectations are high for Rakul Preet Singh and for her newest love story opposite Arjun Kapoor.

In this Nikkhil Advani production, Kaashvi Nair makes her debut as director.

One expects Arjun to bring on the romance like he did in 2 States.

 

Abhishek Bachchan-Ileana D'Cruz, The Big Bull

Abhishek, who completes two decades in the industry this June, has two films coming up opposite actresses he has never worked before.

Dangal girls Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Sheikh star in Ludo with him, and one waits to see which actress is paired opposite him.

And then, there's The Big Bull with Ileana D'Cruz.

Rajkummar Rao doesn't make conventional films, and he's got quite a few interesting ones coming up.

He has amazing company too, in the form of Janhvi Kapoor, Nushrat Bharucha, Sanya Malhotra or Fatima Sana Sheikh and Bhumi Pednekar.

 

Farhan Akhtar-Mrunal Thakur, Toofaan

Farhan Akhtar and Mrunal Thakur play a married couple in Toofaan.

Mrunal, interestingly, played John Abraham's wife in Batla House and will be seen as Shahid Kapoor's missus in Jersey.

 

Emraan Hashmi-Krystle D'souza, Chehre

If things went according to plan, Emraan Hashmi would have had Kriti Kharbanda as his leading lady in Chehre.

But television actress Krystle D'souza steps in instead, and the team promises suspense, drama and intrigue in Chehre.

The cast, of course, is led by Amitabh Bachchan.

 

Abhimanyu Dasani-Shirley Setia, Nikamma

Abhimanyu Dasani, last seen in Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota,pairs up with Shirley Setia who makes her movie debut. We have, of course, seen her before on the OTT platform, in Maska.

Sabbir Khan, who made Tiger Shroff a star, will direct the film.

 

Ahan Shetty-Tara Sutaria, Tadap

Ahan Shetty, Suniel Shetty's son, will make his debut in a love story Tadap, opposite Tara Sutaria.

Director Milan Luthria, known for his high decibel dramas, stays at the helm of things.
