Meet Bollywood's Debutants of 2018

Introducing the Class of 2018.

This year will see many star kids trying their luck at the movies.

From Sridevi's daughter Jahnvi to Sunny Deol's son Karan, seven of 2018's newcomers have deep connections with Bollywood.

Joginder Tuteja looks at the Class of 2018, and the films they will be seen in.

 

Janhvi Kapoor, Dhadak

Karan Johar took it upon himself to launch Janhvi, Sridevi and Boney Kapoor's beautiful daughter, in Dhadak, a remake of the Marathi blockbuster Sairat, which is being directed by Shashank Khaitan.

 

Ishaan Khattar, Dhadak

Janhvi's co-star in Dhadak is Ishaan Khattar, Shahid Kapoor's little brother .

This isn't Ishaan's first film.

Ishaan made his debut in Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi's Beyond The Clouds, and bagged a Best Actor award at the Bosphorus Film Festival in Turkey.

Dhadak will be his first Bollywood film, and we look forward to an intense performance.

 

Sara Ali Khan, Kedarnath

Sara Ali Khan -- Sharmila Tagore's grand-daughter, Amrita Singh and Saif Ali Khan's little girl, and Soha Ali Khan's niece -- is ready for her showbiz career.

Kedarnath, directed by Abhishek Kapoor and co-starring Sushant Singh Rajput, is set against the horrific 2013 Uttarakhand floods.

 

Karan Deol, Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas

Sunny Deol launches his son Karan in Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas.

The romantic musical set in Himachal Pradesh takes its title from the chartbuster picturised on Karan's grandfather Dharmendra in the 1970s.

Karan's co-star is Saher Bamba, a newbie from Himachal Pradesh, who gets her first taste of Bollywood with Sunny Deol's film.

 

Utkarsh Sharma, Genius

Anil Sharma, who has made blockbusters with Dharmendra and Sunny Deol, launches son Utkarsh in Genius.

A dramatic thriller, the film had a starry mahurat with Dharmendra and Hema Malini in attendance.

 

Rohan Mehra, Baazaar

Nikkhil Advani launches Vinod Mehra's son Rohan in Baazaar, which also stars Saif Ali Khan.

 

Banita Sandhu, October

Banita -- who is from Wales in the UK -- couldn't have had a better start in Bollywood.

Shoojit Sircar signed her on for a love story starring the most successful actor today, Varun Dhawan.

October is one of the most awaited films of 2018.

 

Mouni Roy, Gold

One of the small screen's top actresses, Mouni makes her big screen debut in Reema Kagti's Gold.

Starring Akshay Kumar, Gold is based on Olympic legend Balbir Singh's life.

 

Aayush Sharma, Loveratri

Aayush Sharma, Salman Khan's brother-in-law, makes his acting debut in Loveratri.
