Dev Anand looked quite frail at the occasion but was just as quick on his feet.
Even after spending 66 years in the industry, Devsaab had new stories to bring to the table. "I don't make remakes of films, not even Hollywood films. I am unique," he had said on his birthday.

Two months before his 87th birthday, Dev Anand launched his movie, Chargesheet.
His energy even at his age was unending. When asked what kept him going, he said, "My futuristic thoughts and my films."
He added: "Energy begets energy. If you are lazy, you will always be lazy. If you retire at 60, you will die at 65. It is written in the holy books that you if have a life of 100 years, you should use it."

In a rare instance, Devsaab was spotted at the Stardust awards in 2009.
The actor had once said that he had stopped going for award functions and events. "No one misses me at these functions, so why should I go?" he had said.

At the inauguration ceremony of the Mumbai Festival 2007, Dev Anand spoke at the Gateway Of India.
Troupes and groups from India, Australia, Japan and other countries had participated in the 15 day-long Mumbai festival.
