Finally, Power Star's Komaram Puli is ready to hit the theatres on September 10 after a long wait. Expectations are high for this Pawan Kalyan Telugu film directed by S J Suryah and produced by Singanamala Ramesh.
This is Pawan's release after almost two and a half years. His last film Jalsa (directed by Trivikram Srinivas) released in April 2008.
The combo of Pawan Kalyan and Suryah is back after a decade (the super hit Khushi was their first film in 2000).
A major plus point of Komaram Puli is the music by A R Rahman.
With a debutante heroine Nikesha Patel (a NRI from London), Pawan is set to roar in the film (puli is tiger). Manoj Bajpai too is part of Komaram Puli.
The audio release function held a while ago drew a frenetic fan following accompanied by loud cheers for their hero as well as for the Oscar winning composer Rahman who came with his mother.
Putting in a rare appearance is Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K Rosaiah as the chief guest. He also felicitated Rahman and his mother.A deadly combo of Pawan, Rahman & Suryah!
Image: A scene from Komaram PuliThe story is of a mother played by Saranya who goes through tough times and raises her son as a cop (Pawan Kalyan) in order to prevent unfortunate things from happening to other women. Having certain ideologies as a cop, Pawan Kalyan is said to reform society.
Speaking at the audio release Suryah said, "Pawan wanted to do something for the people, for the land he was born in. His personal character is reflected in the film."
Suryah seems to have scripted the film bearing Pawan's image in mind. Since Pawan plays a cop a lot of high-voltage action is on the cards. Pawan is trained in martial arts and perhaps we can see some of his skills in this film.
A deadly combo of Pawan, Rahman & Suryah!
Image: A scene from Komaram PuliShriya Saran has an item number in the film. This is not the first time that she's performing one as she has done several in the past in films such as Devadasu, Munna and Thulasi.
In Komaram Puli she dances to the song Dochey... At the audio function, a glamorous Shriya said, "It's nice to be together with Pawan".
A R Rahman is composing the music for Pawan's film for the first time. He has sung a song also -- Maaralanthe. Chandra Bose has written six songs in the film.
Allu Aravind (the successful producer of Ghajini, Jalsa and Magadheera) has taken on the distribution of Komaram Puli.
Binod Pradhan a well-known cinematographer from the Hindi film industry (Delhi 6, Rang De Basanti, Munnabhai MBBS, Devdas, Mission Kashmir to name a few), is the cinematographer.
