Meghna George in Kochi
Jayasurya and Anjali (the heroine of the Tamil film Angaditheru) are playing the leads in director Leo Thaddeus' Payyans. The Malayalam film is being produced under the banner of Kammu Vadakkan Films.
"The story is based on the life of a young man named Josie (Jayasurya). He takes life a bit too easy; he is not even bothered to complete his engineering course, which he has stopped midway. His mother Padma (Rohini) is working in a shipping company. They live in Fort Kochi," says Leo Thaddeus, who has earlier directed Pachamarathanalil, with Sreenivasan and Padmapriya in the lead.
"After a while Josie's careless ways land him in deep trouble. He changes his nature after a while. How this happens is what Payyans is all about. The story is a family drama that deals with the relationship between parents and their children," adds the director.
