Prithviraj, who played a gay cop in the recently released Mumbai Police, didn't face any problems essaying the role.

"In fact, the shock element in the thriller worked only because the character was played by a mainstream hero like me.

"The character was, until then, shown as an alpha male and the sudden twist in the tale was indeed appreciated," he says.

According to the actor, everybody had doubts about whether viewers would accept such an experiment, so the positive response for the film has been heartening.

Prithviraj is currently shooting for Jeethu Joseph's Memories.

Surjabala, a Manipuri actor who will be seen in a forthcoming Bollywood film titled Zindagi On The Rocks, is playing Dulquer Salmaan's heroine in Neelakasham Pachakkadal Chuvanna Bhoomi.

She plays the role of a student from Nagaland named Assi, who is studying at an engineering college in Kerala.

That is where she meets Dulquer's character, Qazi.

"I have always loved south Indian films, especially Tamil films, but I never imagined I would act in one. It was a wonderful experience and the crew was extremely helpful.

"I would love to do more films in other south Indian languages," says Surjabala.
