Kaalaaya Tasmai Namaha starring Yogish in the lead is releasing this Friday, October 12, across Karnataka more than 12 months after the team began canning it.

Notwithstanding the failure of his debut directorial venture Patre Loves Padma, but winning critical acclaim for it, Chandrashekar Srivastav is now ready with this film that is based on underworld activities.

Yogish plays a supari (contract) killer in the movie. Yogi's character in the film has emotional overtones, despite playing a killer in the movie, according to director Chandrashekar. "Time is the greatest healer and it teaches everything" is the underlying message of the film.

Rangayana Raghu plays a serious underworld don, a change from his usual comical roles. "This is the first time that Rangayana Raghu will be seen in a serious role which will show his prowess as an actor," says Chandrashekar.

Yogi has sung a song, Khali Roadu, for the movie and has gone on record to say that he even cried while dubbing for his scenes in the climax.

"It is rare for an actor to cry when watching himself perform on screen. Probably, Yogi understood the intensity of his role and that brought tears to his eyes," the director says

Director Chandrashekar is confident that Kaalaaya Tasmai Namaha will not only create an impact in the industry but will also be liked by audiences for its novel narration.

"I tried to show Patre Loves Padma without the commercial trappings. But, Kaalaaya... is a pure commercial film that will appeal to the masses," he said.

Chandrashekar said debutante Madhubala has shown a lot of promise. Her character undergoes a major transformation in the movie. She plays Yogi's love interest.

Snake Shyam, who is famous for catching snakes, makes a special appearance in a song.

A M Neel has scored the music. Cinetech Suri is the cinematographer. The film, produced by Maruthi, is shot in Bangalore, Mysore and Hassan.
