The Christmas-New Year season is one of the biggest for Malayalam cinema and four high profile releases will add to the festivities this year.

Here is a closer look at the films.
Karmayodha
Director: Major Ravi
Cast: Mohanlal, Asha Sarath
Mohanlal plays a daredevil encounter specialist nicknamed 'Mad Maddy' in Major Ravi's Karmayodha.
"We read about the abduction of children and were shocked. I thought that the cops involved should deal with these criminals in a harsher way. All these thoughts were in my mind while creating this character," says Major Ravi.
Karmayodha is being produced under the banner of Red Rose Creations.
The cinematographer is Pradeep Nair and the music director is M G Sreekumar.

DJ Sekhar Menon makes his film debut as an actor and the director says that he has surprised all with his acting skills.
"Luke comes from a wealthy family and is in love with this girl named Ann Mary Thadikkaran, played by Ann Augustine. The evolution of their relationship through various stages is being narrated here," says Abu.
Nivin Pauly, Sreenath Bhasi, Arundhati Nag, Maniyanpillai Raju and Edavela Babu form the rest of the cast.
Da Thadiya is being produced under the banner of Anto Joseph Film Company.

Anoop Menon, who has been creating waves as a scenarist and as an actor, plays the lead in the film along with Asif Ali, Unni Mukundan and the Thattathin Marayathu beauty, Isha Talwar.
"It is about four selfish youngsters who transcend this attitude after going through certain unprecedented situations. It is a musical love story and in a way, a mix of some genres," says Unnikrishnan, who is directing the film based on Sethu's script.
I Love Me is being produced under the banner of Vyshakha Cinemas. Satheesh Kurup wields the camera and Deepak Dev has scored the music.
