FL: Cyberyugadhol Nava Yuva Madhura Prema Kavyam

A team of like-minded friends has just let the cat out of the bag after running a sustained ad campaign for several weeks.

This team published a unique crossword puzzle in the media inviting readers to crack the title of the movie. The campaign did not reveal the names of the actors but it kept the title tentatively as ILU.

The long and unique title of the movie is Cyberyugadhol Nava Yuva Madhura Prema Kavyam (CNYMPK), which when translated, roughly means a new, youthful and a pleasant love story in the cyber age.

Debutant Madhuchandra who directs CNYMPK had worked as Upendra's associate in Super and as assistant screenplay writer with director Yogaraj Bhat for the film Galipaata. He had also penned the dialogues for T N Seetharam's popular daily soap Mukta.

Madhuchandra said the team has received more than 1,50,000 text messages for the crossword puzzle campaign it ran. About 10,000 of them had cracked the puzzle, he said.

Producer Ashwin Vijaykumar, who is all of 23 years old, said five winners would be chosen from five centres across the State.

Director Madhuchandra says that the film talks about pure love. "There are prejudices and illusions about love. It has to be beyond the silly ways and just various forms of chatting. The film will be entertaining and meaningful as we have gone beyond love themes that have come after Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge and many other love stories," he says.

 The film is based on real-life incidents. Madhuchandra says he has converted various thoughts into scenes and woven them into the story and has used the cyber age in a general context.

"The film is a journey of a young couple who are all out to discover true love in the face of difficulties. We have tried to show the seriousness of the situations in an entertaining manner," the director says.

The film stars Gurunandan and Shwetha Srivatsava in the lead roles. While Shwetha has acted in a few Kannada daily soaps, Gurunandan is relatively new to television.

The film also stars popular artistes from television and theatre such as Veena Sunder, Sunder, Manojav Galgali, Seetha Kothe, Sushma Nanaiah and Sharath Lohitsawa.

Says Shwetha about her role, "I represent today's youth. There is some confusion among youth when it comes to balancing their love life and their other needs. Youngsters blindly follow others and are losing the capacity to reason."

Cyberyugadhol Nava Yuva Madhura Prema Kavyam has been shot using a Red digital camera by cinematographer Manohar Joshi.

The movie is shot mostly in the coastal belt of Karnataka and in and around Mangalore. A song has been shot in the Bali Islands, Indonesia.

The music has been scored by Vasu Dixit.
