Will Mohanlal play spiritual guru Sathya Sai Baba in Telugu director Kodi Ramakrishna's ongoing film titled Baba Sathya Sai?
There is no confirmation yet, but rediff.com has learnt from reliable sources that talks are on between the two parties.
Mohanlal is said to be interested in the project and the discussions are going on regarding the star's fee.
The shooting of the film is underway right now and Malayalam actor Sreejith Vijay, who shot to fame with Rathinirvedam, is playing the young Sathya Sai.
Mohanlal is hogging the headlines in Kerala right now, after his touching blog on the murder of political leader T P Chandrasekharan has found tremendous support.
Here comes the Hero
Image: A scene from HeroPrithviraj is teaming up with Diphan, the director of Puthiya Mugham that catapulted him to superstardom. The new film, Hero, is an action flick and will hit the screens on May 24.
The story is based on the life of a stunt artiste in movies named Tarzan Antony.
Yami Gautam, who was recently seen in the hit Hindi film Vicky Donor, plays the heroine.
Hero has a big star cast including Tamil hero Srikanth, Anoop Menon, Bala and Thalaivasal Vijay.
"We tend to ignore the stunt artistes in films, though their hard work is tremendous. It is really a non-glamorous job and a cinema-within-cinema of this kind is a first in Malayalam," says Prithviraj.Rafi-Mecartin to split?
Image: Rafi-MecartinIn the continuing trend of partners going their separate ways, the writer-director pair of Rafi and Mecartin has reportedly decided to work independently from now on.
The news has come as a real surprise to the industry as Mumbai Dosth, scripted by them and directed by debutant Fazal, with Prithviraj and Jayasurya in the lead, was all set to begin shooting in a week from now.
Rafi and Mecartin started off as scenarists and have written the scripts for such hits as Aniyan Bava Chettan Bava, Aadyathe Kanmani, Dilliwala Rajakumaran, Thilakkam and Mayavi.
They have also directed such blockbusters as Punjabi House, Thenkasipattanam, Chathikkatha Chanthu, Hallo and China Town.
They have not been in their usual good form in recent times. They join the list of Siddique-Lal, Anil-Babu, Sachi-Sethu, Akbar-Jose, Shyju-Shaji who decided to separate, after working together as a team for some time.
