Vijay, the director of Kireedam, Poi Solla Porom, Madrasapattinam and the recent Deiva Thirumagal, is right now in the process of shooting his latest film, Thaandavam.
He is repeating the successful cast of Deiva Thirumagal, Vikram and Anushka Shetty, in Thaandavam. Amy Jackson, the heroine of Madrasapattinam also joins the cast.
G Dhananjayan, the southern head of UTV Movies, which is producing the film, says, "Amy Jackson has an equally important role in the film. We can say if the first half belongs to Anushka, the second half belongs to Amy. She is playing the role of a Miss America."
He said what attracted UTV to the film was the script, the fact that it had something new to offer, and the lead character was not a type often seen in Tamil cinema. "It is a complete action entertainer with romance," he said.
