The hugely awaited film is set for an April 11 release.

Tamil superstar Rajinikanth released the music of his latest film, Kochadaiyaan, on Sunday in Chennai. But he plans to stay out of the marketing and promotions later.

Shah Rukh Khan, who was present at the music launch, had paid tribute to the Thalaiva in his latest film, Chennai Express, with the hit song, Lungi Dance.

Rajinikanth, interestingly, had made a cameo appearance in Khan’s production Ra.One earlier.

Shah Rukh Khan escorted Rajini’s leading lady in the film Deepika Padukone to Chennai.

Says a source, "Deepika is shooting with Shah Rukh in Happy New Year. It was impossible for her to fly down to Chennai but Shah Rukh offered to take her along and fly down in a chartered flight.”

The film’s co-producer Dr Murli Manohar says, “The event went off spectacularly. All the roads leading to the event were blocked by Rajniji’s fans. Our leading lady Deepika Padukone flew down with Shah Rukh in a private jet for a few hours.”

Before leaving for Chennai, SRK had tweeted: 'Kochadaiiyaan time. Always a pleasure to meet Rajni Sir and his family. Onward to Chennai.'

The trailer and music of Kochadaiyaan was released by veteran filmmaker K Balachander.

Ten minutes of  Kochadaiyaan was screened for the press.

Explains Dr Murli, “There were many misconceptions about the ‘3D Motion Capture Technique’ that Kochadaiyaan has used. It is not an animation film. We wanted to show the world the difference between a cartoon film and a 3D Motion Capture.”

The film has been directed by Rajini’s younger daughter Soundarya R Ashwin (in yellow), and has music by A R Rahman.
