PIX: Kareena Kapoor's Stunning Bridal Avatars

A celebrity wedding generates a high decibel of enthusiasm. Twice fold, if the pair tying the knot happens to be one of Bollywood's most famous supercouple -- Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor. 

After five years of high-profile dating and romantic declarations in the media, Bebo is expected to wed her co-star of films like Tashan, Kurbaan and Agent Vinod at the latter's ancestral estate in Pataudi on October 16. 

Buzz is that the 32 year-old stunner will be wearing fashion designer Ritu Kumar's reworked ensemble of mom-in-law, Sharmila Tagore's bridal outfit on the D-day. Whether or not it's true, there's no doubt Kareena will make a beautiful and luminous bride given how exquisite she's looked as a reel one on celluloid. 

Not too long ago we showcased some of her elder sister Karisma's most glorious bridal moments on silver screen. Here now, is a look at some of the bride-to-be's most dazzling avatars as a Bollywood dulhania.

3 Idiots

In Rajkumar Hirani's feel-good caper about three engineering students, Kareena plays the super adorable daughter of a grumpy college principal (Boman Irani).

While her role was brief, the actress made her presence felt in all those few scenes. Including the one where she skips her own wedding to seek out her true soul mate on a scooter wearing a gorgeous orange-red creation accessorised with polkis, jhumkis and a helmet.

Even though this battle of sexes-themed romantic comedy co-starring Akshay Kumar was ravaged by the critics, it boasted of Kareena in a sexy, high-end wardrobe. 

Even her bridal number was on the contemporary side with a bold brocade bikini blouse, midriff-flaunting lehenga and the dupatta quite conspicuous with its absence.

Trust Bebo's friend and favourite designer Manish Malhotra to create a design not everyone can pull off except his heroine.

In Priyadarshan's Chup Chup Ke, where she plays a mute character, Kareena sparkles in a remarkably pretty combination of chartreuse green and magenta.

This yet-another-Priyadarshan flick doesn't fare badly either when it comes to Kapoor's bridal look.

Isn't she visibly resplendent and demure in this elaborate rust and gold creation?

If you thought Kareena's talent in playing the blushing bride is limited to extravagant designers and affluent set-ups, you're quite mistaken. 

The lady is just as radiant in a simple red sari and traditional gold jewels as Omkara's ill-fated half, Dolly in Vishal Bhardwaj's critically acclaimed Omkara.

Though this melodramatic tripe starring Tusshar Kapoor-Kareena was a Diwali release, it's easily one of the most forgettable films of both their careers. 

But, look, there's our girl -- flashing her bright smile and a beaming shade of red to qualify for a spot in this compilation.

No one really appreciated Sooraj Barjatya's reworking of the sweet 'n' simple Chitchor into the loud 'n' garish Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon starring three of the biggest surnames in Bollywood -- (Abhishek) Bachchan, (Hrithik) Roshan and (Kareena) Kapoor. 

That aside, she cuts a dainty picture of a bride adorning a dreamy, lilac, net lehnga and shiny baubles.

'Mirror, Mirror on the wall...'

Decked up in rich fineries and a gold-crimson ensemble, Kareena doesn't have to worry about the mirror's response.

How refreshing is Kareena's fondness for colours. 

Unlike other screen brides who stick to red and pink, the actress gamely slips into a pastel blue lehenga for her briefly filmed nuptials to Hrithik Roshan in K3G.

Her debut, Refugee wasn't a blockbuster but it inarguably established her as a natural born star and an actress to watch out for. 

As the young, cross-border bride with nothing fancy or pricey in hand, Kareena is a portrait of pristine innocence and dedicated passion wearing modest embroidered garments and beaded jewellery.
