After the success of Nach Baliye 5, a brand new show called Shriman vs Shrimati has been announced. The show will be launched on April 6 on Star Plus.

In Shriman vs Shrimati, the jodis will not dance with each other but instead, will compete against each other.

Shilpa Shetty and Terrence Lewis will return as judges, while Farah Khan has been added to the jury. Aishwarya Sakhuja and Karan Wahi will host the show.

Here's a look at some of the contestants on the show.

Shefali Jariwala

Kaanta Laga girl Shefali, who impressed everyone with her performances with partner Parag Tyagi on Nach Baliye, will entertain audiences in the new show as well.

"I am sure all of us in the girl's team will rock and win the show," Shefali says. "There will be fights but surely fun ones because the concept in itself is amazing. Parag and I are helping each other out since the dance moves are quite complicated. It's fun to practise together, despite being pitted against each other in the show. Girls are more serious and sincere than the boys. That's why I would say we have a strong chance to win the show."

Debina Bonnerjee of Chidiya Ghar fame is thrilled to take part in this extended version of Nach Baliye, along with her husband Gurmeet Choudhary.

"Had Shriman V/s Shrimati been a longer affair, we would not have done it," she says. "Gurmeet has just won Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5 and it would have been too much of stress on him."

Debina is happy that Tanaaz Irani has been chosen as the girl team's captain. "She is the senior-most in our group and is very good at dancing."

Gurmeet, who is currently playing Yash in Punar Vivaah, has been in the spotlight after winning the Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5.

"Debina and Nach Baliye 5 winner Mahhi Vij are good dancers," he says. "In fact, Debina is trained in classical dance. Now, she is good in western and Latin dance too. She picks up very fast."

Although he has won the Jhalak title, he admits, "Debina is definitely a dancer than me."

At the same time, he thinks the boy's team will win the show.

Karan Mehra, who plays Naitik in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, says his wife Nisha is a good dancer, and has improved even more after her stint in Nach Baliye 5.

"We have been dancing together in Nach Baliye. Now competing against her will be difficult," he says, adding, "Nisha and I can't fight with each other."

Tanaaz Irani seems confident about her turn in Shriman vs Shrimati.

"I have started training and working out," she says. "All the contestants on the show are younger and slimmer than me. That's why there is a lot of pressure on me."

Can we expect some staged fights on the show to spice things up? "I don't think there will be any staged fights because when husband and wife are pitted against each other, automatically it will get spiced up!" she says with a grin.

"When I did Nach Baliye 2 with my wife Tanaaz Irani, I knew there had to be an entertainment factor, so I put my son on the stage and it worked," Bakhtiyaar Irani says.

"But in Shriman v/s Shrimati, I have got Rahul Mahajan (the captain of the boy's team) to dance with. I shot a promo with him, and he's so talkative! He talks even when the judges are talking! So I just wish and pray that he's not sitting on the same podium as me. When it comes to my image as a dancer, I don't care about who my captain is. Rahul needs to follow a certain protocol," he adds.

"On other reality shows, you can say anything and get away. I don't need a script to spice things up. But it's not the same with this show because here, I'm competing with my wife. I can't say anything to her because at the end of the day, both our families are watching. So we cannot cross the line."

Ravi Dubey, who has carved a niche for himself as an actor in serials like 12/24 Karol Bagh and Saas Bina Sasural, says, "I have always loved dancing but I am not a trained dancer. During Nach Baliye, I have been exposed to different forms of dance. So I will give tough competition to the other contestants."

His girlfriend Sargun Mehta never misses a beat, and Ravi says, "I think the girls will win the title, with such good dancers on board!"

Did he find any difference after rehearsing with the boys? "Knowing your partner well helped us to work on each other's strengths and weaknesses. But here, it's not the same as you have to structure it out and rehearse it in a given time." says Ravi.

Kunwar Amarjeet mesmerized everyone during the dance reality show Dance India Dance with his talent. He was a part of Nach Baliye 5 with partner Charlie. He is currently seen on the youth-based show Dil Dosti Dance on Channel V.  

"This new show is just like Zara Nach Ke Dikha. There's a lot of teasing, fun and competition," he grins.

Amarjeet, who claims he enjoys the rehearsals, adds, "Debina Bonnerjee is the best dancer among the girls."
