Katrina Kaif may be romancing Aamir Khan in her next film, Dhoom 3, but it’s her former beau Salman Khan who she’s most comfortable with.

The stunning actress gets candid about the new film, her bikini pictures in Spain, and who’s a better romantic, Salman or Ranbir Kapoor.

What are you scared of?

I am not afraid of anyone. Fear is always the anticipation of the worst that is going to happen.

Once you start taking on challenges, going after what you are afraid of in life and doing what you are actually scared of, you start losing your fears.

You realise that even if everything goes wrong and even if things don’t turn out the way you wanted, life still goes on.

Things are usually not as bad as you feel they are going to be. In fact, they are not as bad even in the worst times.

'We realised that if we don't hold on to each other, we will fall and break every bone in our body!'

You did lots of stunts in this film. Were you scared at any point?

The scariest moment in the film has not been shown in the promos. Aamir (Khan, costar) and I were suspended from a hoop, that’s used in the circus.

We couldn’t use a harness because it moves round and round, and the harness would get entangled.

The hoop is small for two big persons and it leaves huge bruises all over your body. The whole act was extremely difficult and Aamir and I didn’t get the time to rehearse together.

So on the day the song was shot, Aamir and I got up on the hoop and were lifted very high. Then, we had to bend backwards!

We realised that if we don’t hold on to each other, we will fall and break every bone in our body! It was probably the scariest moment of the shoot but the result is spectacular.

Dhoom’s title track was picturised on Esha Deol and then Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Was there pressure on you to better that?

Yes, there is a responsibility. But in this song there is a lot of action and clips of the movie done in an international style. It is not just the song, it is a lot about the film.

In a way, it was everyone’s responsibility, not just mine.

There was so much work that went into it. In my entire career, I have never trained that much for any song.

'Aamir is very chilled out'

How was it romancing Aamir on screen?

Aamir and I had not interacted much before and he comes across as a method actor, but he was actually very easy and spontaneous.

He is very chilled out. I was very comfortable with him. We had a lot of fun. There is one amazing romantic song in the film and I am waiting for that to come on television.

In that song, you put your leg on his shoulder, and Aamir said he had been very nervous...

Aamir was sitting on the chair and doing absolutely no work at all and I am dancing and doing everything possible to impress him.

Now it comes to the shot where I have to place my leg on his shoulder. I am already nervous as I have to put my foot on Aamir Khan. I am thinking of how to do it, so I had to practice it few times.

I go to him and I think that he will say ‘don’t worry, just go for it, no problem, we are in this together.’

Instead, Aamir says ‘just be careful, I have a shoulder injury so don’t put your leg too hard, don’t hurt my shoulder’.

I got even more nervous after that!

'I feel privacy should be respected'

You were upset with the media when the bikini pictures were leaked. Are you still upset?

Does it look like I am upset?

I never said I was upset with the media in general. When I saw those particular images, I reacted honestly from my heart because at that time, I felt angry and hurt. What I did and what I wrote is because I really was hurt. I felt angry.

People around me said that it is part of show business, something that is going to happen. But I feel privacy should be respected.

But I’m not upset now. You react for the moment, say what you need to and then move on. You live and learn from it.

You are a public figure, you’re used to paparazzi. So why did you get so upset?

When I saw those pictures, the first thing that came to my mind was this has not happened to me in the nine years that I’ve been acting in the movies. This is not right.

Now after some months, I have calmed down.

I have learnt from the whole situation. Next time, just give me some notice so that I wear matching clothes (laughs) -- red and white does not match! (She was wearing a red and white bikini when she was clicked with Ranbir Kapoor in Spain).

'I am single till I get married'

What did Ranbir have to say to that?

Everyone feels differently, so a man may feel a certain way and a woman may feel a different way.

It was an off guard moment. It is just the way I felt at that time. But life goes on; it is not such a big deal, there are worst things happening in the world.

Are you single?

I am single till I get married, and there are no plans for marriage yet.

Who do you rate a better romantic: Salman or Ranbir?

I want to lead a long, happy and peaceful life so I will refrain from answering that question!

You have worked with the three Khans -- Salman, Shah Rukh and Aamir. With whom were you most nervous and with whom were you comfortable?

Nervous, definitely Shah Rukh. I have said this during Jab Tak Hain Jaan too, I don’t know why.

Off the sets, we were fine, happy chit-chatting but when I came in front of the camera and they would say ‘action’, I would forget all my dialogues. Something about him made me nervous.

The most comfortable I have been is with Salman. Maybe because I’ve known him so long and he has seen me from the beginning, so there is no self-consciousness, I don’t feel judged.

'I did almost two and a half hours of training every day'

You look fabulous in the film, how did you get that look?

The gym!

For this film, I think I may have overdone it. It is been three months now since we are doing the post production work and I have run away from my trainer Yasmin (Karachiwala).

She messages me every day. Lots of songs required me to be physically strong, it was not just about the look.

I had to do lots of acrobatic stunts and songs so I had to have strong arms and shoulders. I did almost two and a half hours of training every day. Ever since the principal photography ended, which is three months ago, I just ran away. I don’t want to see her again in a long time.
