Actress Kate Winslet and singer-songwriter Gary Barlow have been awarded with Britain's highest honour by the Queen at Buckingham Palace for their accomplishments in their respective fields.
The Oscar-winning beauty, who was awarded a CBE for services to drama, said she and the monarch had discussed the joys of motherhood when she collected her honour, Sky News reported.
The 37-year-old star said Her Majesty had congratulated her and asked how much she enjoyed acting. 'I said yes I liked it but not as much as being a mother. She said: 'It is the best job',' Winslet said.
When her honour was announced in June, Winslet, who won a Best Actress Oscar in 2009 for her role in The Reader, said: 'I feel deeply proud to receive this, as a part of an ever-expanding community of British actors and film-makers who are fortunate enough to be able to contribute to an international industry. This makes me very proud to be a Brit,' she said.
Take That star Barlow, 41, said he was 'deeply proud' to be given his OBE.
Another award winner was Ryder Cup-winning golfer Darren Clarke, who was given an OBE for services to the sport.
The charismatic Northern Irishman, 44, said meeting the Queen was more nerve-racking than winning a major tournament.

Emma Stone, who is known for her sweetheart roles in The Amazing Spider-Man and Crazy, Stupid, Love, has also starred in a homemade sex tape, according to a report.
A 'close insider' has told Radar Online that the 24-year-old had a 'wild streak' when she was younger and made the alleged video before she became famous, the New York Post reported.
'Emma Stone has a sex tape and that's a fact,' the source, a 'pal of the actress,' told the gossip site.
'She made it long before she started dating Andrew Garfield, and before she really became a household name. She was just young and probably thought nothing would ever come of it,' the source said.
According to the insider, the alleged tape is not being shopped around and 'remains in the hands of the person she made it with,' the source said.
'But that doesn''t mean there's any guarantee that it won't eventually hit the market. The higher Emma's star rises, the more valuable that tape becomes,' the source added.

Terms between the estranged couple, who dated each other for eleven years, have turned sour as de la Rua has filed a
lawsuit here accusing his ex-girlfriend of breaking a promise to continue paying him a share of her business profits, reported the Huffington Post.
The son of former Argentine President Fernando de la Rua argues that he left his career as a publicist while he was dating the star, eventually becoming her business manager and is thus entitled to monetary compensation for this work.
De la Rua is seeking 18 per cent of the profits from her deal with Live Nation, the world's largest entertainment company, a contract reported to be worth approximately $100 million.
The couple separated in August 2010 but did not go public with the split until last January, when the 35-year-old Colombian artist posted a letter on her blog citing the decision as 'mutual'.

Other artists with records now on the list include Little Richard, Ray Charles, Frank Sinatra for his Theme from 'New York, New York' and Willie Mae 'Big Mama' Thornton for the first recording of 'Hound Dog' in 1953, a record Elvis Presley covered three years later.
The collection, which is on display at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles, now features 933 records.
An annual review by a committee of professionals from the recording arts industry decide which records are put forward, with final approval given by a board of trustees at The Recording Academy.
'We are proud to add them to our growing catalogue of outstanding recordings that have become part of our musical, social, and cultural history,' Portnow said of the new additions.
