'I'm scared of joining Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao'

Sony Entertainment Television's Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao will see three new contestants through the wild card entry on Monday -- television actor Jay Bhanushali, singer Mika Singh and Luck actress Chitrashi Rawat.

Jay, last seen as the host of Dance India Dance reality show, seems quite nervous about living in a jungle for a couple of days. He talks to Rajul Hegde about his fears.
 
What prompted you to take up Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao?

I started my career as a model, then took up acting, dancing and anchoring a reality show. I get bored with things easily so I was asking myself what next. When the makers offered this show, I agreed within a minute because I wanted to do something I have not done so far. I felt I would survive this show, so there was no reason to say no.
 
Are you replacing Swetha Tiwari, who walked out of the show on Monday?

The show was offered to me two weeks ago. So I don't think I am replacing her.
 
Are you nervous?

Usually, I feel very confident when I sign a reality show. But this time I am very nervous and scared.
 
How confident are you doing the dangerous tasks?

I am a crazy guy and love challenges. I have done underwater scuttling and bungee jumping. I am prepared for the tasks though I don't know how I will react to the jungle tasks. I am sure it will be very interesting and different experience for me.
 
Being a vegetarian will you be comfortable performing the tasks?

I have to perform the tasks, not eat them. It's just a game so I am fine with it. I am very scared of scorpions so let's see whether I will come out of the phobia.

Reality shows and controversies go hand in hand. How will you handle it?

I have done a few realities so I know how to handle them. I will stay away from bitching and will not react to any comments made about me. I don't believe in competition. My only concern is that people should be entertained and I should enjoy myself. I have never won any reality show though I reached the finals, so they should not be scared of me.
 
Do you think you will be able to survive in the jungle?

I don't think I will walk out. I cannot stay away from my folks for long. I agreed to be part of this show mainly because it's only for a month. I will have a get-together with friends and family before I leave for Malaysia.
 
Have you watched Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao so far, and the original, I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here?

I have watched both. The original is tougher but this is equally good.
 
Do you have any favourites in Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao?

Yes. Marc Robinson is a genuine person. I like watching him on the show. I have known Akashdeep Saighal and Chetan Hansraj for quite some time. I will get to know the others once I get there. I do not know whether they will accept me or not.
 
Will you be comfortable living with the sexy new entrant Nigar Khan?

I have watched her on the show and think she is a nice girl. I just have to stay with her for a month. It's not like I am going to marry her. I am cool with it [smiles].
