Like many of her comtemporaries, Jiah Khan was an active presence in Twitterverse.

Often retweeting introspective posts about love, relationships and life in general, the actress's feed was punctuated by pictures of her and her family -- her two sisters and filmmaker mother Rabbiya Khan.

Here's a look at snapshots from Jiah Khan's childhood and life away from the camera.

Posting this picture with her mother, Jiah had tweeted in August last year: "flashback! mummy and I!!!"

Yet another picture posted in August last year showed Jiah as an infant, in her beaming mother's arms.

She updated, "me and mummy! lol! i seem to have a pout!"

Posting the picture on her profile, the actress had written, "Here a peek at me when I was 5...and my gorgeous madre!!!"

Having missed Eid celebrations with her mother and two sisters last year, Jiah posted a nostalgic picture and tweeted, "Truly missed my family this Eid and especially my mums biryani and sheer khurma :-( miss u @RABYAK lali and kavi."

In yet another (slightly blurry) old picture, a young Jiah was seen posing with her younger sisters.

Another picture in her Twitter album had her posing with yesteryear actress Mumtaz.

Jiah tweeted, "went to mumtaz aunty's 65th birthday celebration last nite... she is still so beautiful and enigmatic."

A more recent picture of the actress with her mum actor-filmmaker mum Rabbiya Khan.

According to her Twitter bio, Rabbiya Khan is currently developing a feature film set in the world of tiger poaching in India.

The actress had also posted a picture of her with her pet dog who she called Julian.
