Some trends fade while others are here to stay. One such trend in the fashion world seems to be ruffles, which keep popping through the seasons. Whether it is on the runway or on a hanger somewhere in Mumbai's fashion street, this is one style that refuses to go away.

But while ruffles can look really good on you sometimes, there are times when they could go oh so wrong! We decided to see how Bollywood wears its ruffles. Don't forget to tell us which one rocks your boat.

We begin with the lovely Aishwarya Rai Bachchan whose marriage to Abhishek seems to be agreeing with her.

In fact, Abhishek accompanied his lovely wife to this year's Cannes film festival where she made quite a stir in this strapless white Roberto Cavalli train gown.

While Ash has been known to ruffle quite a few feathers with her earlier fashion disasters at the festival, this year she seems to have gotten it right.

Fashion gave Priyanka Chopra much needed exposure. Her acting skills as well as fashion sense were applauded. She even managed make this frothy concoction look sexy.

Now this is what we call a showstopper. Mandira Bedi works the crowd with this pink-meets-silver high gloss gown with a ruffled border.

Nothing fazes Katrina Kaif. Not even wearing this scarlet creation designed by Ritu Beri's during a fashion show.

Short 'n' Spicy

Had enough of gowns? Try going short as Shriya Saran did in this short halter neck dressy number in blue.

Ruffled sister

Looking for something shorter in ruffles? Then why not pick a top like Shilpa Shetty's. Team it with low-waist jeans and a funky belt and you're ready to go.

But we wouldn't recommend sister Shamita's one dimensional horror.

Instant glam

Another way to dress up your Levis is to do like Sonam Kapoor -- team it with a stringy halter neck style top in pristine white with ruffles running down the front. Instant glam!

Rock goddess

Who knew ruffles can be edgy. Kangna Ranaut brings out her rock star goddess in this chic leather-look short dress.

Boho chick

Not a fan of layered ruffles? How about just one along the border like this crisscross top worn by Deepika Padukone?

Feelin' blue

We're on the fence about Neetu Chandra's outfit. Maybe if she gets rid of the belt we'd warm up to it

Bips goes pink

Bipasha Basu strikes the right balance between sexy and chic in this pink top with tiny ruffles.

Less is more

We threw in this outfit worn by Raima Sen as a warning of how NOT to wear ruffles. Less is more, people.
