Veteran actor Dilip Kumar and his actress wife Saira Banu celebrate their 47th wedding anniversary today, October 11.

Kumar tweeted: ‘Each year of our marriage has been made beautiful by everybody who wish us through letters, phone calls and Internet. Saira and I will spend the day, in quiet acknowledgement of what we mean to each other, now more than ever Inshallah.'

Thanking his fans, he added: ‘Praying in gratitude for all that Allah has blessed us with his bounty and benevolence. A million thank you for your prayers.'

Fardeen Khan to become father

Fardeen Khan, who starred in films like Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega, Bhoot and Janasheen, is expecting his first child with wife Natasha. The two have been married for seven years.

‘It is with a profound sense of joy that I announce the forthcoming birth of our child this December. Natasha and Fardeen. Thank you for your words and wishes,’ the 39-year-old actor tweeted.

Fardeen, who was last seen in the 2010 film Dulha Mil Gaya, will be returning to films with No Entry Mein Entry. It is a sequel to the 2005 movie No Entry and will be directed by Anees Bazmee.

Happy birthday, Amitabh Bachchan!

Amitabh Bachchan, who celebrates his 71th birthday today, dedicated the day to the girl child.

'11 th of October is also the 'day of the girl child'. We celebrated that on KBC with Plan India, the organisation that initiated it,’ Bachchan tweeted.

He also thanked everyone and wrote: ‘FOR THE GREETINGS, FOR THE LOVE, FOR THE AFFECTION, FOR THOSE WHOM I CANNOT REPLY PERSONALLY .. FOR 11TH OCT ... Thank you !!!’
