Bollywood remembers Samir Chanda

Acclaimed art director Samir Chanda who worked on films like Omkara, Rang De Basanti, Saat Khoon Maaf to name a few, passed away yesterday of a heart attack.

Several film personalities mourned the loss with tweets.

Priyanka Chopra who had worked with Samir in Saat Khoon Maaf tweeted: 'RIP Samir Chanda.Had the good fortune of knowing the incredible man he was in Kaminey and Saat khoon maaf.Thank u for always believing in me'

Shreya Ghoshal wrote: 'R.I.P. Samir Chanda. The extraordinary art director of so many stunning films. His contribution to indian films was immense.'

Shirish Kunder, who was working with Chanda for his film Joker, was shocked. 'RIP Samir Chanda. Was working with him on JOKER. We just met last evening to discuss designs for next schedule. Am shocked!' he updated.

Ken Ghosh also wrote his condolences: 'R.I.P Samir Chanda. A very talented Art Director.'

Anupam Kher tweeted: 'Sad and shocked to knw about d sudden demise of Samir Chanda. One of d most brilliant art directors in d country. And a great person. RIP.'

It's Navroze Mubarak from B-Town folks

On the occasion of Navroze -- the Parsi New Year, Bollywood stars tweeted their wishes.

Bipasha Basu tweeted: 'Navroz mubarak!'

Madhur Bhandarkar wrote: 'Navroze Mubarak full of Joy,Happiness and Prosperity !!!'

Genelia D'souza too wished her friends. 'Navroz mubarak to all my parsi friends' she updated.

Celina Jaitly wrote: 'Here's wishing all my Parsee friends a very happy Navroz !'

Ashish Chowdhry also wished everyone. 'Happy New Year to the most beautiful people I know.. Grown up with Parsi's around me, who I adore n can't do without.. God bless, luv y'all,' he tweeted.

Aftab Shivdasani wished his mother who is a Parsi. 'A special new year wish to my beloved mother on this special day for her.. thank u for this life ma..i pray for ur well being everyday, son,' he wrote.

Neha Dhupia tweeted: 'A very happy new year to all our lovely parsi friends out there... May this year bring u lots prosperity and happiness.'

Akshay Kumar teams up with Ludacris

After Kylie Minogue and Snoop Dogg, Akshay Kumar has now collaborated with American rapper Ludacris and RDB for yet another desi track called Shera Di Kaum

Akshay shared the video on twitter as he tweeted: 'Presenting 1 of da biggest Hip Hop Legends of our time not 2 mention several Grammy awards winner, its none other than 'Ludacris!' himself, rapping wiv myself to da much awaited 'Shera di Kaum Punjabi'... I wanna see ur 'hands up in da air' :)'

The song features in Akshay Kumar's Indo-Canadian production called Speedy Singh aka Breakaway. The film releases on September 30.

SRK's busy with Ra.One post production

Shah Rukh Khan is busy with the post-production of his much anticipated film Ra.One

Lata, Subhash Ghai wish Gulzar on his 77th birthday

Veteran poet-lyricist-filmmaker Gulzar turned 77 yesterday. Lata Mangeshkar who has sung many songs written by Gulzar wished him on his birthday.

'Namaskar. Aaj, 18th august, Gulzar sahab ka janamdin hai. Main unko bahut, bahut badhaai aur shubhkamnayein deti hoon. Unke kaafi gaane, gaane ka mujhe mauka mila hain. Aur unke gaane mujhe bahut acchhe lagte hain. Abhi, haal-hi mein maine unki ghazal ka ek sher padha jo mujhe bahut acchha laga, jo main aapke saath share karti hoon. Ummeed hai ki aapko bhi woh pasand aayega. " dard halka hai, saans bhaari hai, jiye jaane ki rasm jaari hai "' she tweeted.

Director Subhash Ghai also tweeted his wishes: 'Gulzar sb, happy 77th birthday! we thank you for enriching us with grt sense of poetry movies developing our aesthetics and vision of life.'
