Cannes Diary: Sonam, Freida, Vidya's FABULOUS avatars

After a fairly successful day one, Bollywood beauties carried out their duties with much flair on the Cannes red carpet the next day.

Arriving at the screening of French drama Jeune et Jolie (Young And Beautiful) at the Palais des Festivals, L'Oreal brand ambassador Sonam Kapoor looked striking in her dramatic Dolce & Gabbana gown and jewellery by mum Sunita Kapoor.

The actress's full-skirted floral gown added just the right amount of glamour to the high profile event.

Freida Pinto was at her fashionable best in a sparkly beaded gown from Indian designer Sanchita as she walked in for the Juene et Jolie screening.

A wavy side updo and red lips rounded off the look perfectly.

The actress's gown showed off her toned legs and back, much like her glamorous turn from last year.

The L'Oreal brand ambassadors also caught up backstage, caught here sharing a light moment, on day 2.

Sonam Kapoor retweeted the picture for her Twitter fans.

While Freida and Sonam took to western wear for day two, jury member Vidya Balan stuck to her desi Sabyasachi designs and added a traditional nose ring to her beige and gold sari.

Her sapphire necklace worked well with the outfit.

The heavily decked-up actress gets a helping hand from fellow jury member, actor Daniel Auteuil, on the stairs.

Joining the desi brigade at the Juene et Jolie screening was former actress Tejaswini Kolhapure in a black strapless Pria Kataria Puri outfit.
