Bollywood's DEATH-DEFYING stunts

Hrithik Roshan's risky underwater stunts for Bang Bang wasn't the first time he tried his hand at death-defying action.

He's done it many times before.

During the shooting of Krrish, Hrithik had a miraculous escape when he fell from a 50 feet high building in Singapore and injured himself.

Before that, in Dhoom 2, Hrithik ran atop a moving train, as his character -- a thief -- dodged bullets and security guards after a big heist.

In fact, all the heroes have tried their hand at risky action scenes many times in their careers.

We take a look at Bollywood's most death-defying stunts.

Shah Rukh khan, Don

In one of the chase sequences in Don 2, Shah Rukh Khan simply steps off a 300-feet building.

Even though a body double did the actual jump, Shah Rukh had to do a part of it.

Khan later claimed it was the scariest thing he had ever done in his life.

Ajay Devgn, Golmaal series

Right from his introduction scene in his debut film Phool Aur Kaante, Ajay Devgn has been doing death-defying action scenes. In that film, he stood on two moving motor bikes. He later repeated the same stunt in Golmaal Returns.

In Golmaal 3, he tried the same stunt on two moving cars.

In Son Of Sardar, Devgn stood on two horses.

It's obviously one of Devgn's favourite stunts.

John Abraham, Force

John Abraham lifted a 150 kilo motor bike in his film, Force, a huge stunt by all means.

Both producer Vipul Shah and director Nishikant Kamath were against the stunt, as they thought the actor may injure his back.

To prove that he had done the stunt himself, John later repeated the stunt live in front of the media.

Salman Khan, Ek Tha Tiger

In Ek Tha Tiger, Salman Khan plays a RAW agent, who is sent to Dublin to solve a case.

The movie had a number of stunts for which the actor had to undergo extensive Parkour training.

Some of the stunts he did were chasing a plane on a bike, and then riding into the plane and holding on to it while the bike fell off.

Also, he tried to 'stop' a train by hanging his coat on the train's antenna.

Imran Khan, Luck

Luck featured quite a few daring stunts.

In one of the deadliest sequences, Shruti Haasan is tied in front of a train while Imran Khan runs on top of it, in his attempt to rescue her.

Mines, planted by Sanjay Dutt's character in the train, explode when Ravi Kissen's character shoots them. Both the actors are in a helicopter. When he shoots the mines, the chopper loses its balance and collides with the train, setting it on fire.

Imran sustained injuries while shooting this scene, and claimed that his skin and even eye lashes got burnt while doing it.

Aamir Khan, Ghulam

One of the most shocking stunts of its time, Aamir Khan ran towards an oncoming train and jumped off the tracks when he was just a few inches from it in Ghulam. It even earned Aamir the Best Stunt award.

According to reports, his nephew Imran Khan will recreate this stunt in his forthcoming film Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobaara.

Akshay Kumar, Khiladi 420

In Khiladi 420, Akshay did some amazing stunts.

But the most daring one was when his girlfriend Mahima Chaudhry is taken forcefully in a hot air balloon.

In a bid to rescue her, Akshay gets into a plane, climbs on its wing and mid-flight, climbs on top of the plane and straps himself on to it. He then jumps 1,000 feet down into the hot air balloon and saves the girl.

Abhishek Bachchan and Vikram, Raavan

In the climax scene of Raavan, Abhishek Bachchan and Vikram fight on a bridge.

"The most difficult was the fight on the bridge," Vikram had said in an interview to rediff. "I sprained my back and could not walk. This fight demanded that I pick up Abhishek Bachchan and throw him, so that was very tough. People who have seen the scene tell me it has come out really well."

Saif Ali Khan and Ajay Devgn, Kachche Dhaage

In one of the scenes in Kachche Dhaage, Ajay Devgn and Saif Ali Khan are handcuffed to each other. In a bid to escape from the police, they manage to climb on to a moving train.

Once on it, they realise the train's driver has been shot dead, and the train has lost control.

So they try to separate their compartment from the rest of the train, even as the train gathers speed. Devgn falls under the tracks but holds on, Speed-style, to the bottom of the train while Saif tries to pull him back.

At the end of the five-minute daring stunt, they manage to separate the compartments.
