After Raakhee in Kabhi Kabhie, Sridevi in Chandni, Juhi Chawla in Darr, and Madhuri Dixit in Dil To Pagal Hai, it is Katrina Kaif's turn to get the Yash Chopra treatment in his next untitled film where she will play Shah Rukh Khan's dream woman.
Says a source, "Yashji's heroines are always portrayed as enigmatic beauties. He gives to his heroines that sense of femininity and grace that are lacking in the portrayal of heroines in today's cinema. Katrina will be the new 'Yash Chopra' woman of unattainable beauty."
She will wear saris in most of the film.
Says the source, "So far Katrina has been seen as an extremely westernized though entirely wholesome girl-next-door looks. Yash and Aditya Chopra are about to transform her into an entirely Indian beauty."
Apparently, Katrina's entire body language and dress code will undergo a change.
Says the source, "She will be a full-on desi girl. Aditya and his father have asked her to work on her diction, body language, and to also practice Kathak and Bharat Natyam dance forms. She has been instructed to wear the sari as much as possible. Katrina loves the apparel anyway so she'd happily abandon the gowns and the dresses. She has also gone on a massive sari-buying binge so she can feel comfortable playing Yashji's dream girl."
And now for the million-dollar question. Will Katrina be named Chandni in Yash Chopra's film?
Apparently, Yash Chopra is in two minds on the matter.
Though all his heroines from Raakhee to Sridevi have been named Chandni, Madhuri and Preity Zinta were not named so in Dil To Pagal Hai and Veer-Zara respectively.
Apparently, Yash Chopra was not inspired enough by these heroines to honour them with the dream-girl's name
But Katrina, we hear, is that close to being called Chandni.
